ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Good design cuts through cultural barriers connecting people from different countries and races.

The study of design and cultural sensitivity aims to bring about a higher alertness in our consciousness especially in our multi-nationality community.

Cultural sensitivities is one crucial consideration and this workshop strives to induct and cultivate a sense of awareness and empathy to learners on the various cultural norms and practices in Singapore.

What You Will Learn:

  • Learners will be taught the various cultural practices and quirkiness in Singapore's multi racial society.
  • Generating conceptual design ideas that enhances understanding, civility and appreciation of various cultures and their perspectives.
  • This workshop aims to impart learners with techniques to validate their design as well as being mindful and accountability for their design work.

WORKSHOP INFORMATION

Learners embarking on this programme will be entitled to up to 95% subsidy from the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG). Successful graduates from this workshop will be issued a Statement of Attainment for Cultural Sensitivity for Design issued by SSG.

This workshop is delivered by First Media Design School.

Learners are to successfully complete all course assessments to qualify for SSG funding.
